Hello, I’m Nurul.
I’m a seasoned photographer, enjoying both film and digital. My first exposure to photography dates back to 1999 when my parents gifted a Polaroid i-Zone to me. Years later, I developed an interest in film photography and lomography, while learning to use a DSLR simultaneously.
In 2016, I switched to a mirrorless system. The learning curve molded me into the photographer I am today. At present, I am big on family documentary and street photography. With such little time on my hands, I try to keep my camera close — seizing every photo opportunity.
Other than photography, I write to process and reflect on my daily life—what I did, observed, overheard, or learned. Writing is crucial to me—it keeps me grounded. Alongside writing, I enjoy reading and writing book reviews. My reading spans a variety of genres, from slice of life to mystery thrillers to Japanese literature.
When I’m in the right mood, I strum my ukulele, dabble in art or write some postcards. I love a hot cup of coffee at 5 AM when the world is still quiet.
I have oceans to share, but barely enough time. Thank you for being here.
